Recall effort of Shasta County supervisors can gather signatures

Supporters of the recall effort of three Shasta County supervisors can now begin collecting signatures after the petition met the requirements.

REDDING, Calif. - The Shasta County Clerck said the corrected petition filed on May 25 to recall three Shasta County Supervisors met the Elections Code requirements.

Now, supporters need to gather valid signatures for the petition of at least 20% of registered voters in each of the supervisor’s districts.

A report of Registration from Feb. 10 shows of 21,959 registered voters in District 1, they will need 4,392 valid signatures in the recall effort of Joe Chimenti.

Of 21,540 voters in District 2, they will need 4,308 valid signatures in the recall effort of Leonard Moty.

Of 22,160 voters in District 3, they will need 4,432 valid signatures in the recall effort of Mary Rickert.
