Dr. Brad Smith from Chico Immediate Care said the rapid test is done with a nasal swab. Dr. Smith told Action News Now that the test is then read by an analyzer machine. He claims that the test is 97% accurate.

“If you come in within the first five days of symptoms, we can confidently tell you that the test we are running has about the same accuracy as a PCR,” said Smith.
