Purse Snatching Suspect Nabbed in Anderson

Good samaritans help woman recover purse.

Anderson Calif.-- Good samaritans and a police dog helped police capture a purse catching suspect in Anderson.

Investigators say 20 year old James Potter stole a woman's purse from her shopping cart just before 6:30 Monday night, in the Safeway store on Balls Ferry Road.

Two people chased Potter down and recovered the purse.

A responding police officer then saw Potter walk into the Safeway Fuel Station, where he allegedly tried to hide in the bathroom to change his clothes to avoid being recognized.

K9 Officer "Aero" was deployed to the scene and when police threatened to send him in if Potter didn't surrender, he gave up right away was arrested on charges of robbery and burglary.
