Pumpkin thieves caught on camera in Chico

A group of young men was caught on camera stealing pumpkins off a porch in Chico early Tuesday morning.

CHICO, Calif. - Thieves were caught on camera stealing pumpkins from homes in Chico.

People who live on Hawthorne Ave. said a theft happened around 11:30 p.m. on Monday and there were smashed pumpkins on East First Ave near Verbena fields. 

There was a group of young men stealing pumpkins at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday morning from a home on Baroni Dr.

The people who live there say the suspects drove by at least once before stopping.

Chico Police Department said decorations were stolen from several porches in the area.

Officials say if the homeowners do file a report, this could lead to theft charges.
