CHICO, Calif. - Hundreds of photos of Camp Fire pets in shelters are hung on the walls of Ponderosa Elementary School in Paradise, the majority being cats.

Rescuers say they are working to help reunite pets with their owners.

"We need to get out to the public to reengage," said Heidi Farrara, a volunteer rescuer. "Various things that I'm doing in the community to help connect people is realizing that a lot of people can't imagine that their pets have survived."

A Lost & Found Pet page has been made on Facebook to help reunite displaced animals with their owners. For information, CLICK HERE.

The recent active, wet weather pattern is taking a break over northern California as a ridge of high pressure moves overhead. Our short term weather will remain quiet, but more chances of rain are coming soon.
