Police swarm home in south Oroville, body identified

Oroville police officers have identified a 37-year-old man who was stabbed in south Oroville on Thursday, Nov. 28.

UPDATE 2:56 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2019 - Oroville police officers have identified a 37-year-old man who was stabbed in south Oroville on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Oroville Police received a 911 call about a disturbance at 3553 Fallbrook Avenue, in South Oroville on Nov. 28, at 10:45 p.m.

The caller said that a male had possibly been stabbed, according to officers. Oroville police responded to the address and located a male stabbing victim.

OPD Officers and Emergency Medical Personnel administered aid, however, the victim was declared dead on the scene, officers said.

Investigators from the District Attorneys Office along with the Department of Justice responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The deceased subject has been identified as 37-year-old Richard R. Bone.

Officers said this is an active, on-going investigation and the circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation.

Oroville Police Department said they do not believe that there are any outstanding subjects and the weapon believed to be used in this incident has been located and seized by investigators.

OROVILLE, Calif. - Oroville police swarmed in and out of a home in south Oroville early Friday morning.

Officers have taped off Fallbrook Avenue between D Street and Elgin Street. Oroville police and investigators have been going in and out of a home since around 6 a.m. The Oroville crime response unit is also on the scene.

Oroville dispatch said they received a call about this scene around 10 p.m. on Thursday night.
