YUBA CITY, Calif.- Police say reports of shots fired at the Yuba-Sutter Fair Sunday are unfounded.

Action News Now spoke to the Yuba City Police Department, who said a loud noise caused crowds to panic and run.

People at the fair reported hearing one gunshot just before midnight on Sunday. Police said people were running for the exits and trying to jump over fences in sheer panic.

Many are on edge after more than 30 people have died in shootings in less than a week in America, according to authorities.
