Anderson Police investigating body found near missing person's car

Anderson police investigating a body found Saturday near a vehicle linked to missing person Steven Bedwell.

SHINGLETOWN, Calif. - Anderson Police Department is investigating a body found near the vehicle associated with a missing person.

Police say they found a vehicle belonging to a missing person, 59-year-old Steven Bedwell, in a remote area of Shingletown Saturday. Officers searched the area and found a body nearby.

The Shasta County Coroners Office will conduct an autopsy to identify the cause of death and to determine if the body belongs to Steven Bedwell.  Anderson police say they did not find any evidence of foul play at first glance. 

Bedwell was reported missing on Feb. 17.
