Police: Man arrested for sexual battery near downtown Chico

Chico Police Officers are asking any victims who may have been inappropriately touched by a 25-year-old man to come forward.

CHICO, Calif. – Chico Police Officers are asking any victims who may have been inappropriately touched by a 25-year-old man to come forward.

A female victim was walking on E. 1st street near downtown Chico at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, when she was approached by an unknown man who abruptly touched her inappropriately over her clothing, according to police.

The female was able to get away from the man and contact the Chico Police Department.

Police said around 5:30 p.m. they responded to reports of a suspicious subject in the 700 Block of Mangrove Avenue, the suspect was identified as 25-year-old Adam Fulkerson.

Police said they had been contacted earlier in the day due to similar reports. However, officers said they were unable to develop probable cause for his arrest.

Fulkerson admitted to the sexual battery and was transported to the Butte County Jail, according to police.
