Police arrest burglary suspects on roof of Chico Marketplace

Some burglary attempts at the Chico Marketplace on Friday are being attributed to the same trio of suspects.

CHICO, Calif. – Two men and a minor were arrested for suspicion of committing a burglary after Chico police officers said they caught them on the roof of the Chico Marketplace.

Police said a burglar alarm was tripped Friday morning at approximately 5 a.m. at the mall’s J.C. Penney store.

They said they arrested 20-year-old Wekin Tankul, 19-year-old Antonio Garza and a juvenile that remains unidentified.

Later on Friday morning, police said they received a report of another Chico Marketplace burglary. TLC Affordable Fashion was burglarized.

Police said they determined that the same three suspects had burglarized that store.
