Redding police arrested a man suspected in an apparent crime spree over the weekend.

Redding police arrested a man suspected in an apparent crime spree over the weekend.

Police say 26-year old Joshua Ellis is suspected in the theft of a man's wallet on Hilltop Drive Friday night spending over $700 at the Mount Shasta Mall with his credit cards.

Then on Sunday morning, a car theft in the 2100 block of Hemingway Street.

Sunday night an officer spotted Ellis with the car in the Walmart parking lot.

Ellis was arrested with the stolen property as well as needles and scales normally used to weigh drugs.

Police say this is the 27th recovered stolen vehicle this year, and third this week in Redding.
