Police arrest Redding man for DUI crash

Police arrested a Redding man for a DUI crash that sent two women to the hospital early Thursday morning.

REDDING, Calif. - Redding Police responded to a crash on North Bechelli Lane near Hemsted Drive in Redding at 12:16 a.m. Thursday morning.

Officers say one of those passengers, 24-year-old Rachelle Bigger, of Anderson, suffered major injuries. Bigger was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.

A second passenger, identified as 18-year-old Miya Banuelos, of Redding, sustained unknown injuries. She was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police identified the driver as 20-year-old Michael White of Redding. Officer determined White was driving under the influence. White was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
