CHICO, Calif. – A Chico woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after making criminal threats and brandishing a large kitchen knife at people, according to police.
Police said they received several 9-1-1 calls around 12:19 p.m. Callers said a woman, later identified as 39-year-old Kimberly Craven, was brandishing a large kitchen knife at people in the 200 block of Cohasset Lane.
Once officers arrived on scene, they say Craven ignored the officer’s commands and walked into her apartment, which was located nearby. After, officers learned she made criminal threats to one of the victims and brandished the large knife at several people.
A perimeter was set up around Craven’s home. Officers said they attempted to contact Craven by phone and a loud speaker, but she did not respond.
A family member of Craven’s arrived on scene and was able to get her to exit her apartment. Craven was taken into custody and arrested for brandishing a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, according to police.
