Police investigating suspicious death of 82-year-old Oroville woman

Oroville Police are investigating the suspicious death of an 82-year-old woman found unresponsive in her home Friday afternoon.

OROVILLE, Calif. - Oroville Police are investigating the suspicious death of an 82-year-old woman found unresponsive in her home Friday afternoon.  

On Friday, June 5, at 5 p.m., Oroville officers were dispatched to an address on Pine Oaks Rd., within the city of Oroville, regarding an unresponsive woman, police said.

Oroville Police Department’s Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.

Through this investigation, it was determined that 82-year-old Sandra George was the victim of a suspicious death, which is currently being investigated as a homicide, according to the police.

Members from the Department of Justice said they responded to the scene to assist with this investigation, which is currently ongoing.

Oroville Police Department asks that anyone having information regarding this incident, or any surveillance footage from the area, contact OPD Investigations at 530-538-2448.

Police said this is an active investigation and there is no further information that will be released at this time.
