REDDING, Calif. – Employees at a Redding food truck arrived to work Wednesday only to find it had been vandalized.

Employees arrived at “The Park” Wednesday morning and found the grounds vandalized, two ping pong tables destroyed, chairs and tables thrown into the railroad track, and planter boxes spray-painted, according to Redding Police Officers.

The cost of damage estimated at over $2,000.

Through investigation, officers said security video showed a man inside The Park around 4:40 a.m. causing damage.

The downtown patrol officer recognized the suspect as 28-year-old Justin Omar Perez, a Redding transient. Officers said Perez is well known to law enforcement.

Perez was located around 1 p.m. on Wednesday and admitted to the vandalism, saying that he was “mad,” according to Redding Police Officers.

Perez was booked into the Shasta County Jail on felony vandalism charges.
