Police: Redding man arrested after attacking ex-girlfriend

Redding police said they arrested a 19-year-old man who attacked his ex-girlfriend and violated his probation.

REDDING, Calif. – Redding police said they arrested a 19-year-old man who attacked his ex-girlfriend and violated his probation.

It happened Wednesday evening at the 1100 block of Delta Street near Caldwell Park.

Police said Richard Anthony Pangelina violated a protective order against his ex-girlfriend and attacked her.

Pangelina was located by police near the baseball fields off Quartz Hill Road. Police said during a search they found a loaded handgun in his waistband.

Police arrested Pangelina, he is facing several charges including domestic battery, possession of a firearm.
