Police: Marysville man arrested for rape of woman met through dating app

The Marysville Police Department said they arrested a man after receiving a report that he sexually assaulted a woman he met through a dating app.

MARYSVILLE, Calif.-  After a month-long investigation a man was arrested and booked at the Yuba County Jail on Thursday for sexually assaulting a woman that he met through a dating app, according to the Marysville Police Department. 

In late June, the victim told detectives that Kenneth James Jones, 39, of Marysville had sexually assaulted her. 

Jones was taken without incident on the 200 block of 18th St. in Marysville. 

He was booked for charges of rape, oral copulation, false imprisonment and for a parole hold.

The weather will be pulling a 180 as we head into the evening hours and kick off our work week. A north wind will be taking hold, bringing gusty conditions and increased fire danger to the valley, foothills, and the Sierra Mountains. Gusts between 25-35mph are possible from late this evening through Monday night for the valley while the foothills and the Sierra will continue to see the windy conditions through Tuesday morning. This has prompted a Red Flag Warning for the Valley 11pm tonight through 8pm Monday while the Sierra and Foothills will last through Tuesday morning.
