Chico's Gang Unit Detectives make arrest in September stabbing

UPDATE 9:05 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 - The Chico Police Department announced they have arrested a 32-year-old in connection to the September 21 stabbing.

Officials say Gang Unit Detectives were able to identify and arrest Stephen Campbell on Dec. 5.

Campbell is a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation parolee and was booked on charges of attempted murder, criminal gang activity, conspiracy and accessory.

Now at the Butte County Jail, Campbell is being held on $615,000 bail.


CHICO, Calif. - Chico Police are looking for three possible suspects in connection with an early morning stabbing near downtown Chico on Saturday. 

Neighbors told Action News Now that they found the man suffering from stab wounds on the front lawn of a house near West 3rd and Cedar Streets. 

Police said the suspects were gone before they got to the scene. The man was taken to the hospital.
