CHICO, Calif. - One woman is behind bars after Chico police say she "recklessly" lit some fireworks, causing a small fire to break out late Sunday night.
Officers say calls came in around 10:52 p.m. Sunday, reporting a woman lighting some fireworks near West Second and Walnut streets.
Callers also told officers, she was igniting the fireworks near shrubbery and trees.
Witnesses told arriving officers that Tiffany Bollinger, 42, of Chico, was responsible for setting the fireworks, according to police.
Police also noticed a bush that caught on fire in front of a home near the area. Firefighters from the Chico Fire Department responded, quickly extinguishing the flames.
There have been no reports of injuries.
Bollinger was arrested without incident, she is charged with unlawfully causing a fire.
