Police: Chico driver runs red light, causes collision

Police said a Chico woman ran a red light, causing a collision at an intersection Thursday morning.

CHICO, Calif. – Police said a Chico woman ran a red light, causing a collision at an intersection Thursday morning.

Around 6:45 a.m., Chico Police Dispatch said they received calls about two SUVs that collided at the intersection of 6th and Main Streets.

Officers arrived on the scene, where one of the vehicles had rolled over onto its roof. Both drivers were out of their vehicles and not injured.
Through investigation, police said they learned a 73-year-old Chico woman ran a red light which caused the collision. The other driver involved was identified as a 43-year-old Chico man.

The intersection was partially blocked for nearly an hour as the vehicles were cleared from the area.
