SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Redding Police Department confirmed new information about a deadly shooting on Oct. 19.
Police say Alejandro Armstrong admitted to police that he was drinking vodka before leaving his apartment with two guns that were stolen.
Armstrong said he had no plans of killing anyone when he left the apartment, which is located at Linden Apartments.
Armstrong admitted to officers that he killed 50-year-old Karl Lee Bernardo of Redding.
Officers searched Armstrong’s apartment where they said they located five guns with possibly hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
The deadly shooting happened just before 11 a.m. at a camp in Mercy Canyon.
An autopsy is scheduled for this week and the case is still being put together.
