CHESTER, Calif. – A Plumas County man was arrested Thursday evening after a man showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
Plumas County Sheriff’s deputies said they received several reports of gunshots heard around 11:50 p.m. near the 100 block of Brentwood Drive in Chester.
The individual who reported the incident told the dispatch center that there was a vehicle with five suspects outside the home threatening to kill her.
Shortly after, Seneca Hospital staff told the sheriff’s office there was a man in the emergency room with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an out-of-county hospital for treatment.
Through the investigation, deputies said they determined Donald Curtis Cox was the suspect involved in the shooting incident. Cox was taken into custody and booked into the Plumas County Jail.
Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.
