BECKWOURTH, Calif. – A pilot is in the hospital after a crash landing at the Nervino Airport in Beckwourth.
Deputies with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office said they were notified Friday around 10:35 a.m. of a possible aircraft collision.
Emergency crews arrived at the Nervino Airport where the pilot of an ultralight plane had lost control on approach and crash-landed on the runway, according to deputies.
The pilot had to be extricated and was flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno with moderate to severe injuries, the sheriff’s office said. The pilot was the only occupant in the plane.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified and will be conducting an investigation.
