CHICO, Calif.- People say they're outraged and disgusted with the vandalism taking place near the former well-known restaurant, The Graduate, located on West 8th Street in Chico.

The building will soon be replaced with apartments but right now it's being flooded with trash and graffiti and people are upset about it.

Action News Now Reporter Kristian Lopez spoke to a group that says they want something done about it.

The group also located four needles near the vacant building during the interview on Saturday.

Roxanne Eldridge, from Chico says, "I came here as a child with my parents, going into the graduate, playing games, getting food, and now I feel like it's a place where I don't want to get out of my car because I don't feel safe."

Sergeant Curtis Prosise with The Chico Police Department says they frequently receive complaints about the area, regarding graffiti and littering, he also says the property owner is responsible for the clean-up.

Action News Now reached out to the property owner for a statement, but they have not yet responded.
