PARADISE, Calif. - People in Paradise and businesses are having to prepare for another PG&E shutoff.

"We've all been through a lot," said Paradise resident, Laura Mcintyre.

Camp Fire survivor, Mcintyre said she and her family are prepared during red flag days.

"We kinda have a go-bag ready," said Lcintyre. "With the fires that have been around, the bear fire and the others, we have definitely seen more of an emotional reaction when there are high fire dangers. People are much quicker to get out of town which isn't a bad thing because a lot of people were resistant to leaving the first time."

"It's something to pay attention to and be very cautious of what you're doing when there are these conditions," said owner of Joy Lyn's Candies, Glenn Hartley.

The high fire danger prompting the shut-offs is impacting businesses. Hartley said he invested $25,000 in a generator so that he could be prepared.

"When you're talking about $25,000 - that is a cheap investment when you're talking about $100,000 dollars in inventory," said Hartley. "No it was a no-brainer for us, we had to do it to be a surviving business in these times, in paradise."

He said some red flag days are more difficult to go through compared to others.

The other week, when there was a big fire burning, the feeling of evacuating and fire, was much higher than they are this week," said Hartley.

PG&E anticipates that power will be restored to essentially all customers by 10 p.m. Friday.

Once the wind calms on Friday morning, PG&E said crews will patrol and inspect the de-energized lines to make sure they were not damaged during the wind event.
