SHASTA LAKE, Calif. - A lot of people headed out to Shasta Lake for their Memorial Day.
At Fishermen's Point Picnic Area, which is just up the road from Shasta Dam, there were a lot of cars parked. But people still tried to keep their social distance.
People enjoyed their Memorial Day picnic but made sure to keep their six-feet distance. Action News Now spoke to one Redding couple who says the brought a pair of masks with them in case it got too crowded.
“We always carry masks in the car,” said Barbara Moorman of Redding. “But I figured most of the people out here is out there on the lake.”
Shasta-Trinity National Forest re-opened the Fishermen's Point Picnic Area and several other campgrounds about two weeks ago.
