CHICO, Calif. - A train struck and killed a man south of downtown Chico early Friday morning, according to the Chico Police Department.
Police say it happened just after 3 a.m. on the railroad tracks near West 7th and Cedar streets.
The last time Action News Now reported on a pedestrian death involving a train was back in September, that happened near the Chico State WREC near Orange Street.

According to the Governor's Highway Safety Association, more than 6,200 Americans died last year in pedestrian versus train incidents.
