Victims in deadly Highway 70 crash identified as parents of 7-month-old

The Coroner’s Office identified two victims killed Thursday evening in a collision on Highway 70 and Ophir Road.

OROVILLE, Calif. – The Coroner’s Office identified two victims killed Thursday evening in a collision on Highway 70 and Ophir Road.

Authorities say 21-year-old Raul Leal and 19-year-old Kayla Rodriguez, both residents of Marysville, lost their lives on Feb. 11. Leal and Rodriguez were parents to a seven-month-old boy.

Friends of the couple have started a GoFundMe with the intent to assist the child left behind. The GoFundMe states their goal is to assist in providing a stable future for the child.
