PARADISE, Calif. – Friday, August 2, 2019 marks an exciting time in the recycling world.

The Northern Recycling & Waste Services location in Paradise, California is set to resume services in the wake of the Camp Fire.
When the fire hit November 8, 2018, the majority of the facility survived the flames. But with the town burned, the majority of customers gone and many employees also having lost their homes; the center has been at minimal operations.

Five months after the Camp Fire, in April, 2019, the center’s director spoke with Action News Now.

At that time, Jennifer Arbuckle, the Director of the facility said, ‘We are committed to staying with the town of Paradise and rebuilding.”

Now, holding true to that, the recycling center is set to open again for business Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10 o’clock. Drop-off services will resume, with the center open each Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The household hazardous waste facility will be open the first Saturday of each month, starting Saturday, August 3, 2019.

Northern Recycling & Waste Services is located at 920 American Way, in Paradise.

For more information on the services, call 530.624.7947.

Cloudy skies and very light scattered showers are lingering across northern California for the start of your Wednesday, but we'll be clearing out and warming up Wednesday afternoon. We'll be sunny and warmer on Thursday, but clouds will increase Friday. More showers are looking likely Friday night into Saturday, but we'll dry out again for Halloween on Sunday.
