PARADISE, Calif. - K-9 unit “Cash” retired after nine years of service on Jan. 4. He began at the Paradise Police Department on Dec. of 2011; a year after being born on April of 2010 in the Netherlands.
Serving as a dual-purpose canine, certified in both sniffing for narcotics and handler protection. In his tenure Cash has helped apprehend two dozen wanted fugitives, finding missing persons and locating a plethora of illegal narcotics.

Cash is also well known around Paradise for his school, community event and K-9 program fundraising events demonstrations alongside partner Sargent Wilkey, whom graduated from the Canine Handler course together as a Patrol K-9 team, through the years.
