PARADISE, Calif.- Middle school students in Paradise received a special send off to high school.
Thursday morning Paradise Unified School District teachers and staff held a special drive-thru ceremony for graduating 8th grade students near Paradise High School.

One by one students got out of their cars and received their diplomas, a goodie bag and got their picture taken.
About forty-two 8th graders participated in the celebration.
Student Samantha Colcleasure says, "It's nice, after all of this I didn't think we were going to have a middle school graduation but we did so it was pretty cool."
A video of the celebration will be put together and shared on social media.
A second drive-thru graduation ceremony will take place Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for about 40 more students.
