PARADISE, Calif. – A Paradise man was arrested after several stolen items were found on his property, police said.
Police said 51-year-old Shane Gibson was determined to have previous felony convictions for burglary and possession of narcotics.
Gibson is known to have been living a 5000 block of Scottwood Road prior to the Camp Fire and has since been on the property in an RV trailer.
Officers arrived on the property, but Gibson was not home at the time.
While on the property, officers said they were suspicious after locating several trailers on the property. They then performed a record check that revealed to them a car trailer, loaded with garbage, was stolen from Tractor Supply in Chico.
The small RV Gibson is known to have been living in was stolen out of Woodland, California. Inside the RV, officers said they found a firearm and narcotics paraphernalia.
Then, A Whacker Neuson G25 portable generator worth around $20,000 was also found and determined to be stolen equipment from United Rentals in Chico. A 25-gallon propane tank that was reported stolen by Julie’s Kitchen in November 2019 was also found.
Shortly after, police found Gibson driving to his property and a high-risk vehicle stop was conducted in his driveway.
Police said he was booked into the Butte County Jail on multiple counts of felony possession of stolen property, one count of felon, addict in Possession of a Firearm, one Misdemeanor count of Possession of Stolen property, and one Misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
