CHICO, Calif. - The Paradise and Chico High School basketball teams will face off in a basketball fundraiser game on Monday.
All proceeds for the event will go to the Paradise High Athletic Program.
The Paradise High School girls basketball team has been working out at Chico High, which has stepped up to offer equipment for ht teams and a place to practice.
Many of the players, coaching staff and their families lost their homes in the Camp Fire.
"It's great to just be together with all of your team who's also going through the same situation," said Macy Mattern, forward for the Bobcats basketball team.
They say that basketball has been a healthy distraction.
"This group of girls is just one big family," said Sheila Craft, Bobcats head coach. "This season is something they'll have for the rest of their lives. In the devastation, there is a light and there's something for us to look forward to."
The game is at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26 at Acker Gym on Chico State's campus.
