PARADISE, Calif. - After 35 years on the job, Paradise Town Manager Lauren Gill said she's stepping down.

Gill announced her plans to retire at Tuesday night's town council meeting. Councilwoman Melissa Schuster said the announcement of Gill's retirement was planned and not brought on by the Camp Fire.

The council approved hiring a professional recruiting firm to help find a new manager before Gill leaves in September.

Another disturbance will cross northern California through tomorrow. The biggest effect will be stronger wind in the valley tonight through Thursday. There are no watches or warnings for fire danger, but the wind won't help.
