BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - School might be out, but the work continues this summer for staff at Paradise Unified. Ponderosa and Paradise Elementary are combining into one school at the former site of Paradise Intermediate School.

On Wednesday, a team of volunteers and faculty picked through piles of heavy boxes at Paradise Intermediate, tossing the old and rolling out all the necessities to Paradise High.

Come the new school year, the Paradise Intermediate School campus will operate under a new name: Paradise Ridge Elementary.

The school expects to welcome an estimated 250 to 300 kids to the elementary school in just a few months.
