PARADISE, Calif. - Paradise Police Officers arrested a man for a burglary that happened at the Colonia Mini Storage.
Officers said they found a suspicious vehicle at the Colonia Mini Storage located at 5921 Skyway on Dec. 6. They added that the location was well known by officers to have been burglarized several times since the Camp Fire.
After investigation, it was determined that a single storage unit was forced open and items were missing. The vehicle that officers found contained stolen property from the burglarized unit. Officers then identified 36-year-old Loren Maisler who was the registered owner of the vehicle.
However, officers could not locate Maisler and seized the vehicle as evidence.
On Dec. 13, officers said Maisler attempted to report to the Paradise Police Department that his vehicle was stolen. Officers interviewed Maisler regarding the stolen vehicle and his possible involvement in the burglary of the storage unit.
It was then determined that Maisler falsely reported his vehicle as stolen in an attempt to hide his part in the burglary. Officers arrested Maisler and he was booked into the Butte County Jail.
