PARADISE, Calif. - When you hear this sound and see the rink.

Many people can remember a Christmas season where they skated with friends and family.

Maybe shared a hot chocolate and even laughed so hard after someone fell.

Now the Paradise ice rink has finally opened in the wake of the Camp Fire that destroyed thousands of homes and structures.

And the ice rink still stands and reporter Elizabeth Zelidon visited the opening of the recreation area and has more in the video.

The first of two storms moved over northern California late last night and this morning, but our weather has quieted for now. More rain showers will fall Saturday, but heavier rain and snow with stronger wind arrives Sunday.
