Paradise Ice Rink Opens After Camp Fire

Despite the Camp Fire, Paradise is opening its ice rink on Saturday.

PARADISE, Calif. - Despite the Camp Fire, Paradise is opening its ice rink on Saturday.

The Recreation and Park District is opening the rink at noon on Dec. 22. 

It was originally planned to open on Nov. 9, the day after the Camp Fire started. 

A community christmas tree lighting is planned at 5 p.m. at the Terry Ashe Recreation Center on the Skyway.

The rink will be open from 12-6 p.m.

A fire weather watch has been issued from 1pm Monday to 11am Wednesday in the Valley and foothills due to dry and gusty conditions. We'll warm up next week but next weekend is looking much much cooler and wet.
