BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The president of the Honey Run Covered Bridge announced on Tuesday at a ceremony between Ponderosa Elementary School and Durham Elementary School that the association for the bridge has an offer to rebuild it.

Robert Catalano said if everything goes well, the bridge could be rebuilt within the year.

He also added that even though the bridge is still not rebuilt, the association will be holding its annual pancake breakfast benefit at the Honey Run Covered Bridge's site from 8-11 a.m. on Sunday.

Following the breakfast, people can head to the Colman Museum and Old School House for the 49'er Fair for a day of eating, music and fun.

Light scattered showers are on tap for the start of your Thursday, and I'm tracking heavier rain ahead from Thursday afternoon through mid day Friday. We'll have a lull in our wet pattern late Friday through early Saturday, but even heavier rain and snow will return this weekend and persist into next week. Major travel impacts will be possible across northern California from this wet weather.
