PALERMO, Calif. - Memorial Day around the North State was a busy one for firefighters.

Butte County firefighters quickly knocked down a blaze in Palermo Monday afternoon.

Butte County Cal Fire was called to the fire at 2465 Palermo Road just after four p.m.
It took crews about 15 minutes to knock down the flames.

The elderly husband and wife who lived in the home escaped unharmed.  Their home was damaged, but not destroyed.
