TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - PG&E will soon begin flying helicopters in the Tehama County area to check their power lines.
The utility said they will fly along power lines in the Red Bluff, Dairyville and Los Molinos areas.
Helicopters will be seen flying close the ground at 500 feet.
PG&E said crews will use lidars to identify potential hazards near the power lines by gathering detailed data of the surrounding environment.
The helicopters will leave from the Red Bluff airport at 9 a.m. each weekday and return around 5 p.m.
Patrols will begin on Thursday, June 25 and wrap up around the first of July.
