Oroville police and fire chief signs contract

Chief Deal served as the interim police and fire chief for the past six months.

OROVILLE, Calif. - On Dec. 17 the City of Oroville interim police and fire chief Joe Deal signed a three-year contract.

The contract was ratified by the city during Tuesday's council meeting. 

"The amount of support that the department has received from the community during the six months that I was in the interim position was overwhelming," said Chief Deal. "It's rewarding, it's a very rewarding position. I am very grateful to the city council for trusting me with this opportunity and I look forward to moving forward."
