Oroville's Feather Fiesta Days Spans Two Weekends

The fun starts this Friday May 4th with the Grand Parade on Saturday May 12th.

Oroville, Calif. - Oroville's Feather Fiesta Days is one of the biggest community celebrations in the North State. For more than 70 years and a few name changes ... it brings residents and visitors together for a huge hometown celebration.

The "warm-up" weekend starts Friday, May 4th with the "First Fridays Fiesta!" from 4 - 7 p.m. on Myers Street in Downtown Oroville. Merchants will be serving up drinks for the Margarita Mixer and Myers street will be closed for the Show & Shine Car Show, Creeper Races and Taco Truck. Tickets are available here, You can pick up tickets for the Margarita Mixer online here or on the day of the event at the Oroville Downtown Business Association booth on the corner of Bird and Huntoon streets.

Bidwell Bar Day takes place on Saturday, May 5th, from 11am - 4pm at the Toll House & Suspension Bridge entrance, in the Bidwell Canyon Recreation Area. This family-friendly event includes live "Old West" entertainment, gold panning, candle making, food and pioneer crafts. Admission is free.

Also on Saturday, the Riverfront District presents the 8th Annual Salsa Taste-Off from Noon - 4pm in Downtown Oroville. The tasting begins at Brushstrokes, 1967 Montgomery St. where you can pick up a list of participating shops and ballots for voting.

And the Oroville Eagles Club will host its 5th Annual BBQ Rib Cook-Off Saturday from 11am - 4pm at the Eagles Hall on Montgomery St.

On Friday May 11th is the Feather Falls Casino Show 'n Shine from Noon- 8pm in the Feather Falls Casino Parking Lot

Also Friday, the 70th Kiwanis "Kiddies" Parade takes place from 4pm - 5:30 starting at Pine and Myers St.

Saturday May 12th the day kicks off with the Eagles "All You Can Eat" Pancake Breakfast from 6:00am - 10:00am at the Oroville Eagles Hall at the corner of Myers and Montgomery Streets for just a $5.50 donation.

The Native Sons Of The Golden West also host a Pancake Breakfast in the morning with Bloody Mary Bar & Beer Garden all day long. 7am-6pm, located at Huntoon Street and Miner's Alley.

The Oroville Downtown Business Association will put on the Gold Rush Street Fair from 9am-3pm at Myers and MontgomeryStreet.

There's a Craft fair from 9am-4pm at Sank Park

And the Exchange Club Grand Parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. On Montgomery Street. This year's theme is "Oroville Strong" and includes floats, marching bands, local community groups, cars, horses, and even the occasional lama. With up to 100 entries there is never a dull moment.

Gold Rush Car Show runs from 10am-4pm on Myers Street in Downtown Oroivlle, hosted by The Oro Dam Cruisers

The Artists of Rivertown will help kids make one-of-a-kind Mother's Day and Father's Day cards from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Soroptimist Park.

Oroville Fire & Police Associations Chili Cook-Off from 11am-3pm on Montgomery Street features chili, beer and live music.

And the St.Thomas Spring Fest is from 10am-4pm at 1380 Bird Street. A mini-festival just for kids with interactive games, face painting, game booths with prizes, and live music in a fun and safe environment.
