OROVILLE, Calif. - Police have arrested a woman who is facing arson charges in connection to starting a fire at the Olive Ranch construction site Thursday night, according to the Oroville Police Department.
Police arrested 40-year-old Jamie Gorman of Oroville who is now facing two charges of arson in connection to two separate incidents.
Samuel Sanford was arrested on one count of arson.
Police responded to the Olive Ranch construction site at Grand Ave. and Table Mountain Blvd. Thursday around 7:27 p.m. for a report of a smoke alarm.
When officers arrived, they saw smoke coming from the building. CAL FIRE and Oroville Fire Department began to put out the fully involved fire.
A surveillance camera captured a description of a female who entered the construction site.
Officials were conducting the investigation when a second fire was started near the Table Mountain Bridge and officers learned Gorman could have started that fire.
While officials were at the scene, Gorman was seen walking past the Olive Ranch construction site and officers arrested her.
Earlier on Thursday, police responded to the Bedrock Park in Oroville when they received a report of a man attempting to start a fire.
When they got on the scene, they contacted 28-year-old Samuel Sanford of Marysville.
Officers spoke with a witness who said Sanford was attempting to start a fire with a lighter in a vacant field.
Sanford was arrested for arson.
This was a joint investigation by the Oroville Police Department.
