BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - An Oroville man has been found guilty on four counts of child molestation, according to Butte County District Attorney Michael Ramsey.

36-year-old Robert Donovan began to molest girls who were aged 3, 6-10 and 11 in 2013 until he was arrested in 2018.

The three girls, who are now ages 10,13 and 15, testified against Donovan despite being years after the case was filed and after numerous times the case was continued due to the prosecution's objections.

Donovan has been in custody since his arrest in 2018 pending charges for the case.

He remains in custody with no bail and faces up to 45 years to life in state prison. His sentencing hearing is on May 21.

Donovan faces the potential of being civilly committed as a Sexually Violent Predator and being placed in a State Hospital for the rest of his life if he is to be paroled.

We're closing out the month of November in a pleasant way in northern California Tuesday. We'll have some gusty wind tonight and early Wednesday, but December will begin with warmer and drier than average weather.
