OROVILLE, Calif. – An Oroville man arrested for continuous sexual abuse of a child and arrested in November 2020 is now facing an additional charge.
In September 2020, a victim reported to BCSO detectives that he had been molested by his babysitter several years ago, detectives said. Authorities identified the babysitter as 34-year-old Lance Rogers, of Oroville.
Detectives said Rogers was placed under arrest on Nov. 17 and faces charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, and a felony count of oral copulation of a minor under the age of 14, according to BCSO.
Since the arrest of Rogers, detectives said they were contacted by a second victim who reported he was also molested by Rogers over a three-year period of time.
Rogers has remained in custody at the Butte County Jail since his Nov. 17 arrest.
On Feb. 19, Rogers was placed under arrest for an additional felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to BCSO. The Sheriff’s Office is still conducting follow-up related to this investigation.
