Oroville Police investigating pedestrian vs. vehicle crash

The Oroville Police Department said one person died Monday evening after a crash in Oroville.

OROVILLE, Calif. - One person is dead after a crash Monday evening in Oroville.

Oroville Police officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle around 10:21 p.m. January 25, 2021, at 970 Oro Dam Boulevard in Oroville near the business called “Fosters Freeze.”

When officers arrived they found a man who had injuries from the Honda Accord involved in the crash.

Officers say the man was crossing the roadway as a vehicle was going east on Oro Dam Boulevard. At this time, the exact circumstances are unknown.

The pedestrian later died from his injuries. Two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the wreck. Officers do not believe the male driver was intoxicated.

That particular section of the road was closed for one hour while officers investigated. The identity of the dead pedestrian has not been released.
