OROVILLE, Calif. - One man was arrested in Oroville after officials say he was found trespassing and had cocaine and heroin in his possession.
Around 9 a.m. on Jan. 11, officers responded to 4th Avenue for a report of someone trespassing on the 1500 block. Officials say they found Joseph Duran Quintana of Santa Clara County sitting in a car in the vacant house's driveway.
Officials say they learned Quintana was on active probation for resisting an executive officer with use of threats or violence. This prompted officers to do a probation search of the 39-year-old and his vehicle.
During the search, officials say they found multiple bags of suspected cocaine and heroin and about $1,000, all indicative of narcotic sales.
Also found was a dagger that officials say Quintana had concealed on himself.
Quintana was booked into the Butte County Jail on no bail for possession of cocaine for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed dirk or dagger and violation of probation.
Oroville Police took the opportunity to encourage people to call police when they may see suspicious activity.
