Family escapes overnight garage fire in Oroville, 2 cats dead

Oroville Fire knocks down an overnight garage fire in North Oroville

OROVILLE, Calif. - Fire crews put out a house fire Thursday morning in north Oroville at Evanswood Circle.

Oroville Fire said they received the call around 2:30 a.m. A battalion chief said the family was home when the fire started in the garage.
The three adults and two children were uninjured, however, two cats died.

Crews said they knocked the fire down in 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Red Cross is now finding temporary housing for the family.
