Orland welcomes new police chief

The Orland Police Department announced Thursday that it hired a new police chief following the retirement of Chief J.C. Tolle.

ORLAND, Calif. -- The Orland Police Department announced Thursday that it hired a new police chief following the retirement of Chief J.C. Tolle. 

Sergeant Joe Vlach has been in the Orland Police Department for 20 years, with a background in the Air Force. 

He begins his new position July 1.
